Capone murder, after 11 years, conviction overturned and case sent back for retrial

Almost 11 years after the murder of Pietro Capone, the 49-year-old from Gravina in Puglia, known in the village as the ‘champion of legality’ for his battles against illegal building, the First Criminal Section of the Court of Cassation has overturned the conviction of what, according to the Public Prosecutor, was his murderer: the entrepreneur Gaetano Scalese, assisted by Andrea Di Comite – founding partner of Polis Avvocati, assisted by Gaja Martinelli and Alessandro Lorusso – and Valerio Spigarelli of the Rome Bar.
