Practice Areas

Polis Avvocati provide comprehensive legal assistance in the field of children and families law in its many civil and criminal law aspects. The Children and Families Law Team specialises in both family mediation and court proceedings before the different competent Authorities (civil courts, criminal courts, juvenile courts, and courts of guardianship).

The legal assistance provided by our Team focuses on divorce and separation proceedings, settlement of parental responsibility and property relations between spouses, drafting of 'cohabitation agreements' and rights and protections of de facto (unmarried) and civil partnerships, as well as assistance in protecting the rights of minors and of persons subject to full interdiction or incapacitation or appointment of court guardians.

Polis Avvocati provide in-court and out-of-court advice and assistance in all fields of civil law.

For example, our professionals deal with contractual and non-contractual liability - with particular reference to professional, medical and healthcare liability - banking law and financial intermediaries, succession and donations, property and enforcement procedures.

Education and Work Experience

From 1985 to 1988 she worked at Studio Legale Associato Laterza e Contento, gaining special expertise in Children and Families Law.


In 2008, she founded Studio Legale Associato Labriola Resta Catalano which mainly deals with Children and Families Law and Family and Succession Law.


In 2003 she set up the Bari Office of the National Observatory on Children and Families Law.


In 2006 she attended the Ipsoa Professional Master Course in Children and Families Law.
In 2019 she attended the Scuola di Alta formazione Specialistica in Diritto delle Persone, delle Relazioni Familiari e dei Minorenni (Advanced School of Children and Families Law).


In 2021, she was designated Cultore della materia (subject matter expert) in Children and Families Law at the University of Bari 'Aldo Moro'.
She has been a speaker at many conferences in Italy on the subject of families and minors.


She teaches at the “Advanced School of Children and Families Law at SSN, ONDiF and University Roma Tre.


She has also been one of the contributors to the publication of the book 'Unione civile e convivenze, guida commentata alla legge n.76/2016, Appendice: la prassi giurisprudenziale nella filiazione omogenitoriale' (Civil unions and cohabitations, an annotated guide to law no. 76/2016, Appendix: case law practice in homo-parenthood), Maggioli, 2016, p.355.


She has authored several papers on family law published in the most prestigious national scientific journals, including Familia, Persona & Danno: Familia, Persona & Danno, Avvocati di Famiglia and Osservatorio Nazionale sul diritto di famiglia, where she serves as Coordinator and Deputy Director.
